About the role
This is a lead big data engineering role at Molina Healthcare, fully remote, building enterprise-scale data solutions on Microsoft Azure. It suits a senior data engineer who can design Azure Databricks, Synapse and Data Factory pipelines for large health-care payor datasets and mentor other engineers. The role also drives adoption of AI-assisted development and machine learning within the data platform.
What you’ll do
- Design and maintain enterprise-scale data solutions on Azure Databricks, Synapse and Data Factory.
- Champion AI-first development practices, including GitHub Copilot workflows and Azure Machine Learning.
- Build BI solutions using Power BI and Tableau integrated with the Azure data platform.
- Identify opportunities to use Azure data and AI services to improve Medicare/Medicaid operations.
- Build reusable data quality frameworks and automated validation using Azure DevOps.
- Lead integration of the Azure data platform with Pega, Salesforce and Sitecore.
- Design analytical data models supporting self-service BI for clinical, financial and operational teams.
- Implement batch and real-time pipelines for claims processing and population health analytics.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and health-care data governance standards are maintained.
- Mentor and train team members on Azure data technologies.
What they’re looking for
- At least 6 years of data management experience on cloud data platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, statistics, business, health care or engineering.
- Experience with Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake Storage and Azure Machine Learning.
- Experience implementing AI-assisted development and machine learning solutions.
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, Scala and SQL.
- Experience with real-time streaming architectures such as Kafka, Azure Event Hubs or Spark Streaming.
- Experience integrating data platforms with low-code systems such as Pega or Salesforce.
- Health-care payor industry experience with Medicare/Medicaid claims and quality metrics such as HEDIS and Stars.
- Understanding of HIPAA requirements and health-care data governance.
- Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD and infrastructure as code such as Terraform or ARM templates.
Nice to have
- Experience in the health-care industry generally.
- Health-care payor data experience including claims, eligibility and regulatory reporting.
- Azure Data Engineer certification.
