About the role
This is a leadership-level data governance role at Liberty Mutual Insurance, owning the data roadmap for the Personal Lines Product, Pricing and Underwriting domain. It suits an experienced data steward or data management leader with strong insurance data background, working hybrid from one of several US hub cities or remotely with travel. The role coordinates data transformation priorities across the Data Office and business stakeholders to support a unified insurance platform.
What you’ll do
- Refine, implement and maintain a comprehensive data roadmap for the unified insurance platform
- Translate the roadmap into actionable epics with product owners
- Provide guidance for modernizing Product, Pricing and Underwriting systems onto a new tech stack
- Classify and protect data according to regulatory and compliance guidelines
- Work with technical teams to define and govern data policy and methodologies
- Coordinate with stakeholders and advise Agile development squads
What they’re looking for
- 7-10+ years coding experience in data management, data warehousing or unstructured data environments
- 6+ years as a managing data steward or equivalent role preferred
- 5+ years technical expertise with Kafka streaming, data vault modeling or high-volume data warehousing
- 7+ years expertise in insurance data manipulation and complex data models
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with Agile practices
Nice to have
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a business or technical discipline
- 1-3 years experience with Hadoop stack and NoSQL tools
- Strong aptitude with quote/policy data lifecycle and premium/loss data
- Experience with transformation to Guidewire PolicyCenter or similar cloud technology
