About the role
This is a Consultant Specialist role at HSBC's Private Banking AI team, based in Pune, India, on a hybrid work arrangement. What you’ll do
- Research, develop, and implement techniques in large language models and generative AI
- Conduct proof-of-concept and prototyping to validate new ideas
- Design and develop platform capabilities across AWS, GCP, and Azure environments
- Build and optimize RAG pipelines and agent frameworks for AI solution delivery
- Ensure adherence to architectural principles, technical standards, and security requirements
- Troubleshoot platform issues to ensure resilient AI services in production
- Collaborate with product teams, engineers, and stakeholders to translate AI capabilities into production systems

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related field
- Advanced Python programming skills with familiarity in PyTorch, scikit-learn, and pandas
- Experience with generative AI, LLMs, open-source models, or agentic AI, including prompt engineering and RAG
- Expertise in NLP, multimodal representation learning, generative AI, or LLMs
- Working experience with RAG and agent frameworks such as OpenAI Agents SDK, CrewAI, or LangChain/LangGraph
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and container orchestration such as Kubernetes and Docker
- Experience with data manipulation and analysis using SQL, Pandas, and NumPy
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Nice to have
- Knowledge of implementing responsible AI controls, data governance, and compliance frameworks
