About the role
This is a senior remote machine-learning engineering role for the Toronto market, focused on taking advanced models from experimentation into production. What you’ll do
- Design and deploy production machine-learning models and AI product capabilities.
- Convert research and experiments into scalable production systems.
- Optimize deep-learning models for high-performance inference.
- Improve tooling for training, deployment, orchestration, monitoring, testing and evaluation.
- Track model performance after deployment.
- Integrate ML capabilities into customer-facing products.
- Use experimentation and A/B testing to measure technical and business results.
- Shape ML-platform direction and engineering practices.
- Mentor engineers and guide architecture decisions.
- Evaluate emerging ML techniques for practical product use.

- At least five years developing machine-learning or AI systems.
- A master's degree or higher in a relevant technical discipline.
- Experience moving experimental models into production applications.
- Knowledge of neural-network architectures and areas such as transformers, NLP, computer vision or multimodal learning.
- Experience fine-tuning and optimizing models for scalable inference.
- Advanced PyTorch or TensorFlow experience.
- Strong Python and machine-learning library skills.
- Experience operating production ML systems, including versioning, testing, evaluation and monitoring.
- Knowledge of the full ML lifecycle.
- Technical leadership and mentoring ability.
Nice to have
- Experience with Spark.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, especially Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with statistical modeling, recommendation systems, personalization or propensity modeling.
