About the role
This is a leadership role heading data modernization for the FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health, directing enterprise-wide data architecture and governance. It suits an experienced data strategy and governance leader who can build coalitions across a large regulatory organization and supervise a multidisciplinary team. The role is based on-site in Silver Spring, Maryland, and reports to the Director of the Division of Technology and Data Services.
What you’ll do
- Develop and implement an enterprise-wide data strategy including governance, migration and integration
- Educate CDRH staff on data as an enterprise asset
- Design the Center's roadmaps for data governance and information management
- Define data standards including master data management, metadata and data quality
- Establish a secure Center-wide data ecosystem for medical product data
- Develop enterprise data security standards and policies
- Oversee design and implementation of new data systems, warehouses and data lakes
- Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary technical team, devoting at least 25% of time to coaching
