About the role
Datacom is seeking a senior iOS developer on contract for an onsite role in Auckland. The role is for an experienced mobile engineer who has spent at least five years building iOS applications with Swift, UIKit, and Xcode, and can collaborate across delivery teams. You will develop, test, release, support, and document mobile application features and integrations.
What you’ll do
- Design, build, test, and maintain mobile applications and integrations
- Translate feature requirements into maintainable code
- Work with delivery, QA, and business-analysis colleagues on solution design and testing
- Coordinate releases, deployment readiness, and production support
- Investigate technical issues and contribute to after-hours support when needed
- Document work across the development lifecycle
- Address recurring problems through continuous improvement

- Experience developing mobile applications in agile teams
- At least five years building iOS apps with Swift, UIKit, and Xcode
- Experience supporting applications with a large user base
- Reusable and testable-code practices
- Unit testing, UI testing, debugging, and code-review experience

- Clear communication and collaborative problem solving
- Experience with CI/CD, deployment automation, and responsible AI use in engineering workflows
