About the role
This is a senior software engineering role at Cadence ABA, a company building an agentic clinical platform for ABA (applied behavior analysis) practices, done fully remotely. The system captures therapy session data by voice, structures it, tracks mastery, and drafts billable session notes for clinician review. It suits an engineer who wants to own features end to end in a small, fast-moving healthcare startup.
What you’ll do
- Design, build and ship features spanning real-time voice capture, clinical data structuring and note generation
- Work with product and clinical stakeholders to turn ABA workflows into tested software
- Own pieces of the system end to end, including architecture, code review and production support
- Improve performance, reliability and offline-first behavior for clinicians mid-session
- Work with agentic/AI components so outputs stay structured, auditable and clinician-reviewable
- Mentor other engineers and help raise code quality and testing standards
What they’re looking for
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production systems
- Strong backend and/or full-stack fundamentals: API design, data modeling, system architecture
- Experience owning features end to end on a small team
- Comfort with compliance/data-integrity domains such as healthcare or fintech
- Strong communication skills working with non-engineering, including clinical, stakeholders
- Ability to work in an early-stage environment with evolving requirements
Nice to have
- Experience with real-time or offline-first application architectures
- Experience with speech/voice interfaces or applying LLMs/AI agents in production
- Familiarity with HIPAA or other healthcare compliance and audit requirements
