About the role
This is a remote-primary data migration engineer role at Applied Systems, focused on moving customer data from legacy and competitor systems into the company's SaaS insurance products. You'd own individual pieces of end-to-end migration projects, writing SQL-based extraction, transformation and validation scripts for customer data. It suits a detail-oriented engineer comfortable working across time zones in a global delivery team.
What you’ll do
- Own and execute components of end-to-end data conversion and migration projects using SQL-based tooling
- Perform data extractions, mergers, transformations and cleanup
- Develop standardized, repeatable data scripts and workflows
- Audit and validate data for accuracy, integrity and consistency
- Work directly with customers and internal stakeholders on requirements and expectations
- Collaborate with Development on testing, defect resolution and new solutions
- Analyze customer data and competitor system structures for transformation improvements
- Use cloud-based platforms such as BigQuery to support migration workflows

Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with SaaS data migration or ETL in production
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery and Cloud Storage
- Experience with automation frameworks or scripting for data quality
- Experience using Jira or SharePoint to track and document work
