About the role
This is an Applied Scientist role on Amazon's International Machine Learning team in Bengaluru, building ML solutions for India and other emerging markets. It suits someone who wants to take end-to-end ownership of business problems and turn them into production ML systems. The team works on recommendations, fraud detection, catalog quality and address quality across millions of transactions.
What you’ll do
- Use machine learning and analytical techniques to build scalable solutions for business problems
- Analyze large volumes of Amazon's historical data to automate and optimize key processes
- Design, develop, evaluate and deploy scalable ML models
- Work with software engineering teams on real-time model implementations
- Partner with business teams to identify problems and propose ML solutions
- Build scalable, automated processes for data analysis, model development and validation
- Lead projects and mentor other scientists and engineers

- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or a related language
- Experience with SQL and a relational database or data warehouse
Nice to have
- Experience implementing algorithms using toolkits and self-developed code
