About the role
This is a full-time, on-site bouncer and security position at Westwood Village Inn Smitty's Restaurant and Lounge in Winnipeg, Manitoba, suited to someone with security experience and the required certificates. You'll help maintain order in a bar setting, check identification, respond to incidents and support guests while working a range of shifts.
What you’ll do
- Investigate unlawful activity involving employees or patrons.
- Assist guests who require additional support.
- Give evidence in court when required.
- Write incident reports.
- Check patrons' age identification.
- Search for missing people during investigations.
- Apply venue rules and resolve conflicts.
- Carry out security checks of passengers and luggage.
- Help prevent shoplifting and theft.
- Use Microsoft Word and Excel for work records.
What they’re looking for
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience is required.
- Seven months to less than one year of experience is required.
- CPR, First Aid, WHMIS and basic security guard training certificates are required.
- You must be able to complete a criminal record check.
- You should communicate well, use good judgment and remain reliable under pressure.
- The role requires extended periods of standing and walking.
Nice to have
- Experience with corporate building security.
- Experience with fire safety inspections.
- Experience presenting evidence in court.
