This is a senior data scientist role at Optum (UnitedHealth Group) building predictive machine learning models and MLOps pipelines. What you’ll do
- Develop predictive models using various machine learning algorithms and best practices
- Develop and run scripts for ML model inference
- Test hypotheses and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
- Perform cost-benefit analysis for data science initiatives
- Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for MLOps and DevOps functions
- Create artifacts such as STM, HLD and LLD for hardening prototypes into production
- Communicate the performance of machine learning algorithms across an interdisciplinary team
- Develop and manage a catalog of scalable data services
- Collaborate with business intelligence architects and domain analysts on dashboards and reporting
What they’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, engineering, math, computer science, analytics or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in active development of data science projects
- 5+ years of experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud, Databricks, MLflow, Spark SQL and Python
- Experience with machine learning algorithms including regression, time series, SVM, clustering, decision trees, random forest and neural networks
- Understanding of data, schema, data models and the machine learning lifecycle
- Hands-on Python and Spark SQL coding experience
- Proven communication, presentation and analytical problem-solving skills
