About the role
This is a full-time remote United States Director role for a drug-development or R&D operations professional with at least ten years of workflow and process-improvement experience. You’ll identify where AI and automation can improve development operations, redesign those workflows, and work with IT to turn them into compliant, adopted solutions. The position reports to the Senior Director of Development AI Program Management.
What you’ll do
- Map current development workflows, handoffs, pain points, and value drivers.
- Identify and assess AI and automation opportunities across operational processes.
- Redesign workflows so AI solutions can improve efficiency and output quality.
- Convert business needs into requirements and user stories for technical teams.
- Partner with IT on scalable enterprise solution designs.
- Support testing, user acceptance, validation, training, and adoption.
- Build compliance and human accountability into redesigned AI-enabled processes.

- A bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, technology, or related discipline.
- At least ten years in biopharma, life sciences drug development, or R&D operations.
- Hands-on knowledge of development lifecycle workflows and process improvement.
- Experience mapping and improving complex cross-functional processes.
- Practical AI and automation knowledge and ability to define technology requirements.
- Knowledge of GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, data integrity, and validation requirements.
- Strong facilitation, requirements, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Lean, Six Sigma, business-process management, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent certification.
- Change-management certification.
