About the role
This is an onsite computer-vision research and development role in Pune, India, for a scientist working on AI technologies for energy systems. You'll investigate and prototype methods for defect detection, autonomous operation, 3D perception, and visual asset analysis, then help move research toward scalable applications.
What you’ll do
- Conduct applied research in computer vision, machine learning, and 3D perception.
- Develop algorithms, models, and computational methods from experimentation through prototype implementation.
- Review scientific literature and identify opportunities to transfer methods into energy applications.
- Collaborate with internal and external research partners.
- Present findings to technical and business stakeholders.
- Build experimental pipelines, test methods systematically, and document results.

- A university degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field focused on computer vision or image processing.
- At least two years of computer-vision research and development experience.
- Deep knowledge of object detection, segmentation, feature extraction, 3D reconstruction, generative models, and sensor fusion.
- Strong C, C++, and Python programming skills.
- Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, computer-vision libraries, and GPU computing.
- A strong foundation in linear algebra, optimization, and 3D geometry.
- Familiarity with sensors and imaging systems.
- Ability to collaborate across international and multidisciplinary research teams.
Nice to have
- A master's degree or PhD.
- Experience in industry R&D, laboratory, or academic research environments.
