About the role
This is a senior process-development leadership role for a biologics professional who will lead vaccine and biotherapeutic development programs in Hyderabad. You'll oversee upstream, downstream, formulation, analytical development, scale-up, technology transfer and GMP manufacturing support while managing scientists, engineers and cross-functional partners. The role suits someone with deep industry experience in monoclonal antibodies, gene therapy, recombinant vaccines or related biologics processes.
What you’ll do
- Lead multiple vaccine, biologics and biotherapeutic development programs.
- Direct upstream, downstream and analytical development activities.
- Plan experiments and oversee process optimization, scale-up and documentation.
- Manage technology transfers into and out of the organization.
- Support CMC sections of regulatory filings and responses to regulators.
- Manage department resources, budgets, facilities and operating plans.
- Recruit, mentor and develop process-development team members.
- Present technical data and plans to clients, senior management and external partners.
What they’re looking for
- At least 16 years of relevant industry experience.
- Mandatory experience with monoclonal antibodies, gene therapy, recombinant vaccines or biologics process development.
- Practical experience across upstream, downstream, analytical development, MSAT and RFPs.
- Experience with cell culture, fermentation, virus production, chromatography, TFF, formulation and analytical methods.
- Experience developing robust processes for scale-up, technology transfer and GMP manufacturing.
- A PhD or doctorate in any specialization.
- Strong scientific leadership, planning, communication and problem-solving ability.
Nice to have
- Experience developing processes for novel vaccine antigens or biologic molecules from early development stages.
- Experience supporting new-business proposals, timelines and budgets.
