About the role
This is a director-level leadership role overseeing data, analytics, business intelligence and privacy at a Toronto-based children's cancer care organization, working hybrid from the Toronto office. It suits a senior leader with deep Ontario health privacy expertise (PHIPA, Prescribed Entity obligations) who also wants to build modern data and BI capability. The organization coordinates hospitals, healthcare teams and families to improve outcomes for children and adolescents with cancer in Ontario.
What you’ll do
- Develop and lead an enterprise-wide data, analytics, BI and governance strategy.
- Identify opportunities where data and analytics can strengthen programs, fundraising and system-wide impact.
- Advise the CEO and senior leadership with decision-ready intelligence and performance insights.
- Modernize analytics, reporting and BI, including dashboards and scorecards.
- Establish enterprise data governance and data quality frameworks.
- Lead the organization's privacy program, ensuring PHIPA compliance and Prescribed Entity obligations.
- Oversee privacy risk management, including Privacy Impact Assessments and breach response.
- Deliver organization-wide privacy training.
- Guide responsible adoption of AI use cases across the organization.
- Lead and develop a team, including coaching and performance management.
- Partner with fundraising and communications teams on data-driven engagement.
What they’re looking for
- 10-12 years of senior leadership experience in data, analytics, BI and privacy within healthcare, public sector or a regulated environment.
- Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Deep expertise in Ontario privacy legislation, particularly PHIPA, including experience with a Prescribed Entity.
- Demonstrated success building enterprise-level data and analytics strategies.
- Experience overseeing privacy governance, PIAs, data sharing agreements and incident management.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality and analytics modernization.
Nice to have
- Relevant certifications such as CIPP/C, CIPM, CISSP or CDMP.
