About the role
This is an on-site AI engineer position in Pune for someone who can build and operate production AI applications. You'll develop generative AI, agentic AI, and retrieval-augmented systems while connecting them to data platforms, APIs, and cloud services. The role also includes deployment, monitoring, responsible AI controls, and operational maintenance.
What you’ll do
- Design and implement AI and generative AI solutions using LLMs, agentic frameworks, and RAG architectures.
- Build data preparation workflows and scalable AI/ML pipelines.
- Connect AI capabilities with APIs, databases, cloud services, and internal applications.
- Support testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational upkeep.
- Apply MLOps and LLMOps practices.
- Implement bias detection, hallucination mitigation, explainability, safety controls, and data-ethics practices.
- Follow Mastercard security policies and complete required security training.

- Experience with LLMs, generative AI, agentic AI, RAG, and cloud AI platforms.

- Ability to work in a rapidly changing AI engineering environment.
Nice to have
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or Microsoft Copilot.
- Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes.
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks, vector databases, and LangChain or similar orchestration tools.
- Knowledge of APIs, data pipelines, ETL, Git, and software development practices.
