About the role
IDFC FIRST Bank is hiring a backend engineer for its AI Labs group, part of the Data & Analytics function, based in Bengaluru. The role suits someone with a couple of years of backend experience who wants to help turn AI and machine learning work into production systems. You'll build backend services and work closely with data scientists, ML engineers, data engineers and frontend developers to ship AI-driven products.
What you’ll do
- Design, build and maintain reusable, reliable backend code using asynchronous programming patterns
- Work with Python, Node.js and Golang to build scalable backend applications
- Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, data engineers, frontend engineers and other developers
- Support the development and productization of AI models
- Monitor and improve backend performance, quality and responsiveness
- Track down and fix bottlenecks and bugs in the codebase
- Optimize application code and database queries
- Contribute to both backend and frontend implementation as needed
- Review teammates' code and uphold coding standards
- Mentor junior developers on the team

- A BCA, B.Tech or B.Sc degree
- Proficiency in Python, Node.js, Golang or a similar asynchronous language
- Solid understanding of scalable system design and backend architecture
- Familiarity with full-stack development and modern frontend tools
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to write maintainable, performant backend code
