What you’ll do
- Scale backend systems to handle growing traffic and AI workloads
- Build low-latency inference and retrieval endpoints and model-serving pipelines
- Improve reliability and performance across monolith and microservices environments
- Build event-driven data flows using Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Partner with ML/AI teams to deploy embeddings, rerankers and RAG systems
- Ship features end to end across backend APIs and data pipelines
- Integrate AI copilots and retrieval-based workflows into the product
- Implement secure handling of structured and unstructured customer data
- Own observability across the stack and lead debugging of complex issues
- Drive postmortems and root-cause analysis

- 5+ years building and scaling production systems end to end
- Solid backend expertise in Go, Java, Python or Ruby on Rails
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, concurrency and performance
- SQL experience plus familiarity with NoSQL or caches
- Exposure to production model serving such as embeddings or inference APIs
- Strong cloud infrastructure fundamentals, preferably AWS, plus containers and CI/CD
