About the role
This is a senior backend engineering role at GR8 Tech, fully remote and open worldwide. You'll design, build, and maintain backend services across their Casino platform, including bonus/promotional mechanics, wallet and transaction flows, and game provider integrations. It suits an experienced Java/Spring Boot engineer comfortable with real-money, business-critical systems under high load.
What you’ll do
- Design and develop Spring Boot microservices across bonus processing, game launch, and catalog management.
- Implement promotional mechanics end-to-end, from bonus crediting to expiry and settlement.
- Integrate third-party game providers, wallet callbacks, and provider-side bonus features.
- Build and evolve REST APIs including request signing, authentication, and versioning.
- Ensure correctness of real-money transaction and bonus flows via idempotency, retries, and graceful degradation.
- Work with Redis for caching and session state; tune performance under production load.
- Own observability: metrics, dashboards, structured logging, alerting.
- Write unit, integration, and functional tests; ship via GitLab CI to Kubernetes.
What they’re looking for
- 5+ years of back-end experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.x.
- Experience building business-critical domain logic like payments, bonuses, or billing.
- Experience integrating and designing REST APIs.
- Understanding of distributed systems basics: idempotency, consistency, timeouts, retries, caching.
- Experience with SQL and at least one NoSQL store (Redis, Cassandra, or Elasticsearch).
- Upper-intermediate or higher English.
