About the role
This is a Senior Backend Developer role focused on Java and microservices, fully remote from India. You'd build and maintain enterprise-grade backend systems using Spring Boot, Kubernetes and Microsoft SQL Server for a consulting and engineering services firm. The role suits an engineer with at least six years of backend Java experience.
What you’ll do
- Design and develop scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs following microservices architecture
- Develop event-driven integrations using Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Deploy, manage and troubleshoot applications on Kubernetes clusters
- Develop and optimize complex stored procedures, functions, views and triggers in SQL Server
- Analyze SQL query performance and tune execution plans
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
- Troubleshoot production issues across application, API, database and infrastructure layers

- 6+ years of backend Java development experience
- Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC and Spring Data JPA
- Experience with Spring Security and Hibernate/JPA
- Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience including complex stored procedures
- Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Git and Maven/Gradle
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
