About the role
Fingerprint is hiring a senior backend engineer for a full-time remote role open worldwide. The position is for engineers with at least two years of backend experience who can scale real-time API systems in Go or Node.js. You'll own work from initial design through deployment and contribute to a shared on-call rotation.
What you’ll do
- Develop and tune backend services for real-time processing and web APIs.
- Integrate services with other platform components while maintaining performance at scale.
- Investigate difficult production behavior, form hypotheses, and turn findings into engineering changes.
- Debug, test, and optimize backend systems.
- Support junior engineers through mentoring and shared engineering practices.
- Participate in the team's on-call schedule.
What they’re looking for
- At least two years of backend engineering experience.
- Demonstrated Go or Node.js experience and willingness to learn the other language.
- Experience building scalable backend systems, APIs, microservices, or real-time processing systems.
- SQL knowledge and experience with data stores such as DynamoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
- Comfort with Git, shell scripting, CI/CD, and standard development tooling.
- Professional English communication for a distributed team.
Nice to have
- A computer science, data science, or related degree, or equivalent experience.
- Terraform or AWS CloudFormation experience.
- TypeScript, Express, ClickHouse, dbt, or analytical data-platform experience.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Datadog, or other observability tools.
- Experience contributing to large open-source projects.
- Knowledge of internet security and privacy mechanisms.
