About the role
This is a senior AI engineering role at EPAM Systems, based onsite in Pune. It's for an engineer who can take end-to-end ownership of building and deploying scalable AI and generative AI solutions. The role spans LLM-powered applications, ETL pipelines, model APIs and MLOps automation across major cloud platforms.
What you’ll do
- Build and deploy production-grade AI/ML models and generative AI applications
- Design, build and maintain ETL pipelines and enterprise data workflows
- Develop LLM-powered applications using open-source and proprietary frameworks
- Apply prompt engineering to optimize accuracy and output quality
- Expose and deploy AI models through APIs and integrate them into business applications
- Own full lifecycle from model development through containerized deployment and monitoring
What they’re looking for
- 5-8 years of general IT experience, including 5+ years hands-on in AI engineering
- Strong Python programming foundation
- Track record designing ETL and data integration workflows
- Hands-on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch or Scikit-learn
- Experience building LLM applications with prompt engineering
- Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex or Hugging Face orchestration frameworks
- Deployment experience on Azure, AWS or GCP
- MLOps experience with MLflow, Kubeflow or Airflow
- Strong API development and model serving expertise
Nice to have
- Experience with RAG pipelines and vector databases
- Familiarity with real-time or streaming data ingestion
- Exposure to distributed system architectures and microservices
- Experience with Databricks and PySpark
- Professional English at B2 upper-intermediate level or above
