About the role
This is a staff-level software engineering role on Dune's Data Foundation team, owning how blockchain data enters and is represented within Dune's analytics platform. It suits an experienced generalist engineer comfortable turning ambiguous product requirements into architecture and shipped systems, working fully remote. The team works across Go, Kotlin, Rust and Python, and the role is open to candidates across the United States. Dune builds a multi-chain crypto analytics platform used by developers, analysts and investors.
What you’ll do
- Turn product requirements into technical requirements, modeling the domain and defining interfaces and workflows.
- Break large problems into work other engineers can pick up, sequencing so something useful ships early.
- Drive architectural decisions across the data platform and own components end to end.
- Work across the stack in Go, Kotlin, Rust and Python, choosing the right tool for the job.
- Design for correctness and performance at scale, including large-scale ingestion and distributed processing.
- Raise the bar on design reviews, testing, and how the team breaks down work.
- Mentor engineers by example within a fully distributed team.

- Experience with data lakes and formats such as Parquet, Iceberg or Delta Lake.
