About the role
This is a mid-to-senior data engineer role on an Enterprise Data & Analytics team, building data pipelines and analytics infrastructure in Charlotte, NC on a hybrid basis. It suits an experienced data engineer who enjoys hands-on development while also influencing architecture and mentoring others. The employer is Dexian, a technology and professional staffing company.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with business stakeholders on data solution requirements, gaps and feasibility
- Design, document and implement technical solutions for business requirements
- Develop and enhance data pipelines that consolidate datasets into governed views
- Build and maintain analytics infrastructure used by analysts, data scientists and AI engineers
- Create scalable software components using C#, Python and other languages
- Build CI/CD pipelines using Git-based version control workflows
- Support test plan development and implement automated data quality checks and error handling
- Build and maintain data models, mappings, transformation rules and interfaces
- Ensure data solutions comply with security and governance standards
- Mentor junior engineers and participate in peer reviews

- Bachelor's degree
- 5 to 10+ years of SQL Server experience including T-SQL and relational modeling
- BI Warehouse/Lakehouse development experience
- C# or similar programming language experience
- SSIS and ADF experience
- 1 to 3 years of Microsoft Fabric experience
- 1 to 3 years of Python/PySpark experience
- Medallion Data Architecture experience
- CI/CD pipeline experience
Nice to have
- Experience with Statistical Analysis and Probability (Python, R)
- Experience using AI tools to increase productivity
- Microsoft Power BI
- Jupyter or Marimo notebooks
