About the role
This is a senior, client-facing forward-deployed engineering role at Connection, remote within the United States, for an end client building insurtech SaaS software. It suits a strong full-stack engineer with insurtech and commercial P&C insurance background who can lead technical discovery with customers. The role blends direct customer solutioning with turning one-off solutions into reusable platform features.
What you’ll do
- Design, architect and develop scalable features for the core SaaS platform
- Build full-stack solutions spanning frontend, backend, APIs, databases, integrations and cloud services
- Lead technical discovery sessions and architecture workshops with customers and internal stakeholders
- Develop clean, type-safe code using TypeScript, React, Next.js and related frameworks
- Translate customer-specific requirements into reusable platform capabilities
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering leadership on strategy and roadmap
- Design secure, production-ready integrations and automated workflows
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability and performance optimization
- Mentor engineers and establish technical standards
What they’re looking for
- Required insurtech experience, including Commercial P&C insurance and underwriting lifecycle knowledge
- 10+ years of professional experience in full-stack or frontend development within SaaS products or startups
- Excellent communication skills for a client-facing role
- Strong coding proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Java, C++, or similar
- Hands-on experience with Next.js App Router (server components, layouts, streaming, caching)
- Experience with tRPC or equivalent type-safe API frameworks
- Experience implementing data-heavy views with Tailwind and component libraries
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% as needed
