About the role
This is a senior/lead, fully remote Data Platform Engineer role at Beyond Finance in the US, owning production data pipelines and integrations. It suits an experienced engineer with a track record leading technical direction for a team, strong in SQL and database performance. The role leads ETL and reverse-ETL systems moving data between Salesforce, Aurora/Postgres and third-party partners.
What you’ll do
- Own the architecture and technical roadmap for pipelines, integrations and datastores
- Translate broad goals into concrete work the team can execute
- Set standards for infra-as-code, schema contracts, observability, testing and on-call
- Guide replication pipelines syncing Salesforce into Aurora and Postgres via Informatica and Fivetran
- Set direction for production Postgres databases including query performance and access control
- Hold the bar on outbound and inbound partner data jobs including validation and auditability
- Partner with engineering management on planning and team growth
- Mentor engineers across levels through code review
- Lead the team through production incidents and drive systemic fixes
What they’re looking for
- 8+ years building and operating production data systems, including owning technical direction
- Track record of creating clarity from ambiguity
- Deep SQL expertise including query optimization, indexing and schema design
- Strong command of replication and ETL/ELT tooling such as Fivetran, Informatica or Airbyte
- Working knowledge of AWS, GCP or Azure data services
- Comfort writing and reviewing Ruby on Rails or a comparable language
- Ability to define and defend schema contracts across teams
- Calm, decisive leadership through production data incidents
