About the role
This is a fully remote Quality Assurance Analyst/Engineer role at BayNova LLC, supporting a federal government client. It suits a mid-level QA professional experienced in manual functional and integration testing of web applications and APIs. US citizenship and eligibility for a federal Public Trust clearance are required.
What you’ll do
- Own QA engineering duties for UI and server-based application testing
- Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
- Create and maintain UI and server-based software test scripts
- Interpret product requirements into test plans and test cases
- Test software functionality, installation, performance, load and usability
- Liaise with developers and product managers on system requirements
- Investigate causes of non-conforming software and train users on solutions
- Track quality metrics like defect densities and open defect counts
What they’re looking for
- Proven experience in white and black box manual testing of web applications
- Experience with functional, system, regression and integration testing
- Experience developing test cases from user stories
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to execute and read complex SQL queries
- Experience with test management tools, X-Ray preferred
- Experience in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Experience with white box testing of RESTful APIs, SOAP APIs or web services
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a US citizen and able to obtain/maintain federal Public Trust clearance
Nice to have
- Experience with automated testing tools such as FitNesse and HPE LoadRunner
- Experience creating and maintaining automated test scripts
- Experience with Java jar file deployment
- Section 508 compliance testing experience
- Experience with Linux, JBoss, Docker/OpenShift and Appian
