What you’ll do
- Set the technical vision for measuring and improving Rovo Chat quality and reliability
- Architect and build production ML and evaluation systems at scale
- Advance Rovo's agentic capabilities across reasoning, planning and long-horizon execution
- Close the loop between evaluation and product impact
- Make high-leverage technical decisions across model choice and system architecture
- Lead ambitious cross-organizational initiatives with ML, engineering and product partners
- Establish reusable methods and quality standards across Atlassian's AI experiences
- Multiply impact of other engineers through mentorship and design reviews
What they’re looking for
- 7+ years of experience as a software developer
- Track record architecting and shipping large-scale ML or AI systems with measurable impact
- Experience building customer-facing Gen AI applications at scale
- Experience pushing state of the art to achieve breakthrough quality and reliability
- Deep understanding of the machine learning project lifecycle
- Experience leading and supporting senior engineers cross-functionally
- Principal-level technical leadership setting direction across teams
