About the role
This is a full-time underground development miner position at Impala Canada's Lac des Iles Mine near Thunder Bay, Ontario. You'll prepare and advance development headings, operate underground equipment, install ground support, and complete drilling, blasting, mucking, and service work. The role suits an experienced miner who can follow safety procedures and work a 14-days-on, 14-days-off rotation.
What you’ll do
- Prepare headings for development and advance them.
- Operate a MacLean bolter or jumbo, jackleg, and stoper.
- Install ground support and advance underground services.
- Drill safety bays and prepare working faces.
- Load and blast development headings.
- Muck material and complete other assigned underground duties.
- Follow company procedures, regulations, and manufacturer instructions.
- Maintain housekeeping and professional work quality.
- Safely guide less-skilled employees when required.
