About the role
This is a senior data science role focused on building GenAI applications, multi-agent systems and RAG pipelines. It suits an experienced data scientist with a classical ML foundation who has moved into agentic AI tooling, and it's fully remote. HCL Technologies is hiring for a team that builds tool-using agents and LLM applications on LangChain and LangGraph.
What you’ll do
- Build GenAI applications using LangChain and LangGraph
- Design RAG architectures covering retrieval, reranking, chunking and memory
- Work with vector databases such as FAISS, Azure AI Search, OpenSearch and pgvector
- Design prompt-engineering strategies including ReAct and chain-of-thought
- Build tool-calling, planner-executor and multi-agent systems
- Implement MCP servers and tools for agent-to-API and agent-to-codebase connectivity
- Apply classical ML including feature engineering, model selection and hyperparameter tuning
- Implement observability and evaluation for GenAI workflows using LangSmith
- Monitor for data drift, concept drift and model quality issues in production

- 5-10 years of total experience, including 2-4+ years hands-on with GenAI
- Hands-on expertise with LangChain, LangGraph and LangSmith
- Experience with MCP tooling and agent tool integration
- Strong Python coding skills
- Classical ML foundations such as tree models and regression
- Experience with LLM APIs or open-source LLMs
- Experience with AWS or Azure and Git-based workflows
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent
Nice to have
- Experience building complex multi-agent systems for real-world applications
- Knowledge of multi-modal LLMs spanning vision, speech and code
- Familiarity with structured evaluation of LLM systems including hallucination and safety testing
- Experience with enterprise-grade LLM deployments
