About the role
This is a fully remote Latin America contract role for an engineer building AI features for procurement workflows. It suits a software engineer with three to five years of experience and practical RAG, LLM integration, API, cloud, and production-systems skills. You’ll deliver reusable AI capabilities while helping modernize a monolithic platform into more modular services.
What you’ll do
- Build reusable RAG, agent-workflow, MCP-tool, extraction, summarization, and compliance-intelligence patterns.
- Ship production AI features for procurement workflows and internal tools.
- Define evaluation, observability, security, cost, and compliance guardrails for AI systems.
- Work with architecture leaders on modularizing legacy platform capabilities.
- Establish AI engineering practices for testing, prompts, versioning, model lifecycles, and performance monitoring.
- Collaborate with product, UX, and domain experts on useful AI functionality.
What they’re looking for
- Three to five years of software engineering experience with exposure to AI or LLM solutions.
- Hands-on RAG, prompt-engineering, summarization, or structured-extraction experience.
- Python, Node.js, or comparable programming skills, plus API and scalable-service development experience.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud platform.
- Familiarity with vector databases or retrieval systems such as Pinecone or FAISS.
- Understanding of modular or service-oriented architecture, production monitoring, logging, and performance.
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines.
