About the role
This is a backend/platform engineering role at Deloitte building the infrastructure that lets enterprise AI agents be created, deployed and operated at scale, based in Gurugram or Mumbai. You'll build the runtime stack for agent creation, orchestration, observability and deployment within a regulated fintech environment. The role sits within Deloitte's Technology & Transformation practice, working alongside architects and product teams.
What you’ll do
- Build backend services for agent creation, configuration, deployment, execution, sessions, state, memory and lifecycle
- Design and implement agent and service orchestration including async processing, routing, retries and error handling
- Integrate LLMs, Agent SDKs (Google ADK, LangGraph), MCP services and A2A agents through platform APIs
- Connect AI agents with enterprise applications through scalable, versioned APIs
- Build production observability using OpenTelemetry with tracing across agent, model, tool and service execution
- Deploy and operate platform services on Kubernetes/GKE/GCP with security, CI/CD and reliability practices
- Work with architects, engineers and product teams to design enterprise AI capabilities
- Own platform components end-to-end from design through monitoring and improvement
What they’re looking for
- 4-6 years of backend or platform engineering experience
- Strong Python experience building production backend services with FastAPI or similar
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, async programming, microservices and REST APIs
- Experience building APIs, developer platforms, orchestration systems or distributed applications
- Cloud-native architecture experience with GCP/GKE, Kubernetes and Docker
- Understanding of CI/CD, authentication, security and production reliability practices
- Strong understanding of PostgreSQL, Redis and familiarity with vector databases
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Nice to have
- AI experience is beneficial but not mandatory if candidate has strong platform engineering background
- Hands-on exposure to AI agents, Agent SDKs, MCP, A2A or LLM-based applications
- Experience with production observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, OPIK or Langfuse
