About the role
This is an onsite Data Scientist role with Barclays in Gurugram, focused on using statistical modelling, machine learning and AI to support Corporate Bank decisions. You will turn large internal and external datasets into forecasts, insights and production-ready analytical tools while working with business and technical stakeholders. The position covers the full data science lifecycle, from identifying opportunities through deployment and value measurement.
What you’ll do
- Source, clean, transform and manage data from internal and external systems.
- Build pipelines, predictive models, simulations and machine learning solutions.
- Use AWS services such as SageMaker and Bedrock for feature engineering, AI products and deployment.
- Work with senior stakeholders to identify commercially valuable data science and GenAI opportunities.
- Explain complex findings through visualisations and business-focused communication.
- Coordinate with ML operations and technology teams to move successful work into production.
- Apply risk, control, governance and policy requirements to your work.
What they’re looking for
- A bachelor's or master's degree in data science or a related field, or equivalent commercial experience.
- Experience taking data science work from an initial idea through production delivery.
- Commercial experience with methods such as clustering, classification, regression or NLP.
- Strong Python and SQL skills, with the ability to write maintainable, near-production-quality code.
- Experience translating technical work into business outcomes for senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of AWS data and AI services, GenAI, LLMs and retrieval-augmented generation.
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, QlikView or Power BI.
- Understanding of code management practices and collaborative agile delivery.
Nice to have
- Experience with Angular, React, Flask or Streamlit.
- Knowledge of MVC architecture or agentic AI.
- Experience using PySpark in large-scale data environments.
