What you’ll do
- Own the technical evolution of data engineering capabilities.
- Direct and coordinate technical work across the data engineering team.
- Maintain a high bar for operational data quality, performance, scale and security.
- Set technical direction and balance customer and business needs with long-term maintainability.
- Architect solutions and coordinate engineers implementing them.
- Mentor and coach a team of data engineers alongside the engineering manager.
- Partner with counterparts in other departments as part of a cross-functional team.

- 12+ years of experience as a Data Engineer individual contributor.
- At least 2 years of experience as a tech lead for a data engineering team.
- Track record driving and delivering large, complex multi-person or multi-team efforts.
- Strong communication and cross-team relationship-building skills.
- Experience building streaming pipelines with a microservices architecture for low-latency analytics.
- Experience with relational databases (SQL), Spark, and column stores such as Redshift.
- Experience building scalable data pipelines with Spark using Airflow or similar scheduling tools.
- Experience with AWS data services (Redshift, Athena, EMR) or similar Apache projects (Spark, Flink, Hive, Kafka).
Nice to have
- Experience building Kappa or Lambda architecture data platforms.
- Experience implementing Master Data Management (MDM) solutions.
- Experience building pipelines with Databricks and its APIs.
