About the role
This is a senior backend engineering role for someone with 5 to 7 years of experience building Node.js services in Noida, India. What you’ll do
- Design and maintain Node.js backend applications.
- Build low-latency REST APIs and microservices.
- Improve availability, performance, scalability, and operating cost.
- Work with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and third-party services.
- Implement authentication, authorization, and security controls.
- Create unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Use Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and cloud deployment practices.
- Build messaging and streaming integrations with queues or event systems.
- Support WebSocket and event-driven features.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, QA, and platform teams.
What they’re looking for
- Five to seven years of backend development experience.
- Strong recent experience with Node.js and asynchronous programming.
- Experience with Express.js or a similar framework.
- Knowledge of API design, microservices, and service communication.
- Proficiency with SQL, NoSQL databases, and data modelling.
- Experience with JWT, OAuth, or comparable authentication mechanisms.
- Understanding of encryption, OWASP guidance, and secure development.
- Experience profiling and tuning services and database queries.
- Testing experience with Jest or Mocha and Chai.
- Exposure to AWS or Azure and real-time or event-driven systems.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, banking, payments, blockchain, or crypto products.
- Experience operating high-traffic distributed systems.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
